Overcome cravings and transform human consciousness with Eckhart Tolle's bestseller The Power of the Mind

The Power of Now
Eckhart Tolle
(1997)

Eckhart Tolle took the mysticism out of Eastern philosophy and distilled its wisdom clearly and succinctly for a Western audience in search of answers. While subtitled "A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment," The Power of Now (1997) really is a matter-of-fact road map for overcoming what's in your way to living a happy and fulfilled life: your mind. When we picked it up first, we felt like we were reading stuff we had always known, just phrased better and more clearly. For those not familiar with basic spiritual principles such as the "eternal now" or misidentification of the "pain body," it will be an eye opener. We love that Tolle draws from Zen, Hinduism and Christianity but stays non-theistic while avoiding preachiness. Oprah is a big admirer as are actors Jim Carrey and Zach Galifianakis.
