Crystallized Love
Baccarat's B Mine Jewelry Collection
by Emily Tsay

Baccarat's Baby Coeur necklace, in yellow

Flowers and chocolates are nice, but to really set hearts aflutter, we’d go with something a bit more…sparkly. The new Baby Coeur necklace from Baccarat captures the feeling of love perfectly with a single, exquisite full-lead crystal heart that hangs on a delicate silver or gold chain. Sweet yet sophisticated, the necklace is part of Baccarat’s B Mine jewelry collection, which also features a version with smaller heart pendants, one crystal and one silver, dangling side by side.

The heart is just one of the “icon” symbols in this year-old collection. For the 2003 opening of Maison Baccarat in Paris, a surrealistic crystal palace designed by Philippe Starck, Baccarat created a series of silver charms for sale on a permanent yet exclusive basis. Along with the heart, other symbols include the letter “b” (for Baccarat, of course) and the clochette, a bell-like element used in traditional Baccarat lighting. The B Mine collection joins those charms together with their crystal counterparts for a playfully elegant line of jewelry.

Baccarat crystal is generally found on tabletops in the form of ornate stemware, or hanging from the ceiling as a magnificent chandelier. That’s why we love the idea of wearing a Baccarat crystal as jewelry—it’s stealthily luxurious and completely original. Bestow the object of your affection with one of Baccarat’s heart necklaces, and you’ll be hearing, “c’est l’amour.”
