Pretty petals are blooming in fashion this season. Floral motifs, a key trend for this spring/summer, are popping up on everything from dresses to handbags. Welcome sunnier days with one of the floral-inspired fashion pieces below.

Designers like Carolina Herrera, Dolce & Gabbana, Ralph Lauren and Diane Von Furstenberg have all sent arrangements of floral looks down the runway. While a Dolce & Gabbana tulle ball gown with hand-painted flowers leans toward the extravagant side of the trend, Marc Jacobs's poppy print blouse strikes just the right balance of trendiness and wearability. The silk, semi-sheer blouse comes with a V-neck camisole underneath and long ties at the neck. It's a charming look that can work for almost any age.

For spring, designer Nicolas Ghesquière introduced surprisingly splashy additions to Balenciaga's line of cult-status handbags. A departure from the cool and rugged aesthetic of the leather versions we've come to know well, these bright floral fabrications in bold colors are unexpected and artistic.
