The technology behind Squadra (taken from the Italian word for "team") is, well, technical: bi-inflection of a flexible titanium inside arm overmolded by a hard outer elastomere and soft composite inner rubber yields. What these high-tech components add up to is superior fit, durability, and comfort.
Ophthalmic-quality clarity of vision and high levels of protection are also among the benefits; the shock-resistant shield provides significant protection against wind and dangerous UV A- B and C rays. And they look pretty sharp, too. Shields are available in five shapes, in gray or brown, and can be fitted in temples with a wide variety of color combinations. The Squadra collection is ideal for under-the-helmet wear, which Formula One racer and TAG Heuer Eyewear brand ambassador Kimi Räikkönen no doubt appreciates. As for those of us who abide by double-digit speed limits, Squadra's cool design, comfort and durability make it more than appealing for everyday wear. We enjoyed the comfortable, soft nose pads. Also, the frames are light, sporty and take weather well. The only drawback we found was that the arms do not fold down, making storage of the glasses difficult. Overall, we were impressed by Squadra's quality of wear and its technology. Best of all, we can now ride in the wind with our eyes protected and look good doing it too. |
