Evian gives new meaning to the term designer water. The producer of mineral water from the French Alps has teamed up with British designer Paul Smith to create several limited edition bottles. The hipster designer, who is best known for cool schoolboy looks and prints, has embellished the new Evian bottles with his signature multicolored stripes.
It’s a smart move for the company that’s been shifting its product’s image from a luxury lifestyle water to a healthy and young beverage. In fact, Evian has even changed its website name to www.evianliveyoung.com. It’s no secret that consumers have been feeling hesitant about imported waters and replacing plastic bottles with stainless steel and aluminum containers.
So is the $13.95 price tag worth it? Probably not. But, the ink used to print Smith’s playful stripes is biodegradable, so each bottle is totally recyclable. And design tastes so good!
Evian has also collaborated with Cristian Lacroix on a Prêt-à-Porter bottle.
