Bottled water and fashion are popular — albeit surprising — marriages; just think of the recent pairings of Evian and Paul Smith or Issey Miyake. But a bottled water brand making a foray into luxury skincare? That’s news! Icelandic Glacial, a premium brand from Iceland and a fave of fashionistas, has been selected by Christian Dior to exclusively hydrate a new line of skincare products, which will be available in 2012. The water, which is sourced at Iceland's 4,500-year-old Ölfus Spring, was selected by Dior for its "optimal biological properties including brightening efficacy." Translated into everyday speak, this means that Icelandic Glacial is pretty special: 100% green, completely sustainable and CarbonNeutral certified, which means it has a carbon footprint of zero. Here in the U.S., the water is distributed by Anheuser-Busch, which as of 2007 owns 20 per cent of parent company Icelandic Water Holdings.
