The Rocky Horror Picture Show

Top 10 Cult Films

Peter Hinwood, Nell Campbell, Tim Curry, Susan Sarandon and Barry Bostwick in The Rocky Horror Picture Show

The musical "The Rocky Horror Show" bombed on Broadway, but this celluloid version has become the definitive cult film. Instead of watching it at home, attend a midnight screening for a one-of-a-kind, interactive experience in which the audience not only sings every song, but dresses up in character, talks back to the screen and simultaneously employs props that add even more humor to the campy comedy. The movie, like the play that spawned it, infuses sexuality into the staid horror/sci-fi genre through the classic Frankenstein tale. One stormy night, straight-laced couple Brad and Janet (Barry Bostwick and Susan Sarandon) find themselves at the eerie castle of Dr. Frank N. Furter (Tim Curry), a self-proclaimed "Sweet Transvestite" who brings to life a hunky monster as well as the couple's libidos. Added bonus: a young Meat Loaf singing as the bad-boy-biker Eddie.
