Inspired by the raw art of British painter Francis Bacon, Bernardo Bertolucci tells the story of a young Parisienne and her sordid affair with an older American (Marlon Brando). Highly controversial when it first came out, considered obscene by some and the most erotic movie ever made by others, "Last Tango in Paris" is as powerful today as it was in 1972. Bertolucci said of the girl's character that he wanted her like Lolita but more perverse.
