Plot: The elders of a terrorized Mexican village
send three residents to the north to get help from
gunmen. A group of seven assemble to protect the town.
Perks: You might consider it blasphemy,
but we find this remake of Kurosawa's epic masterpiece,
"The Seven Samurai," much more entertaining
than the original. Perhaps that's because it
stars the familiar faces of Yul Brynner, Charles
Bronson, Steve McQueen and James Coburn, and it’s
a delight to see these fine actors at such a young
age playing virtuous archetypal heroes.
