With 73 discs spanning the careers of ten of Hollywood’s brightest stars, two of its most memorable duos and one of its greatest directors, the Signature Collection is enough to make any movie buff sign over their soul—or at least write a hefty check. There’s something for everyone here, with classic films starring Errol Flynn, Henry Fonda, Clark Gable, Greta Garbo, Judy Garland, Cary Grant, Ronald Reagan, James Stewart, Elizabeth Taylor and John Wayne. The on- (and off-!) screen partnerships of Humphrey Bogart/Lauren Bacall and Katharine Hepburn/Spencer Tracy are also celebrated, as is the work of inimitable director Alfred Hitchcock, with nine of his greatest films, including special editions of “North by Northwest” and “Strangers on a Train.” These elegant box sets will wow on the shelf and bewitch on screen.
