Panasonic LX5 Digital Camera - Review
Luminescent
Panasonic's LX5 digital camera may be compact like the majority of cameras currently on the market, but it takes pictures more reminiscent of bulky, full-featured SLRs. With a larger zoom range (24-90 mm) than its predecessor and a resolution of 10.1 megapixels, this point-and-shoot camera is super capable and highly portable.
Auto-correction modes improve color and contrasts. Switching back and forth between landscape and portrait modes is easy, too. The Leica lens, with its proven reputation, provides superior focusing and excellent picture quality. Moreover, the brightness of the lens allows for clear and crisp photography even in low light situations like bars and restaurants, making it perfect for food shots.
A 3-inch high-resolution Intelligent LCD screen aids filming and displays photo and video for playback. In addition to shooting high-definition video, a Creative Movie mode lets the user set the shutter speed and aperture manually for maximum control and flexibility. We found the Panasonic LX5 to be an excellent travel companion with a long-life battery.
Besides the camera itself, a battery charger, battery pack, AV cable, USB cable, shoulder strap, CD-ROM, lens ring front, hot shoe cover, lens cap and lens cap string are included. Accessories such as a wide conversion lens, external flash and leather case are also available.
