The grape-vine green and berry-burgundy colors at Caudalie Vinothérapie Spa at The Plaza hotel transport the Bordeaux winery estate ambience of Les Sources de Caudalie to Manhattan. The 4th-floor retreat within the newly refurbished The Plaza hotel is serene with luxe hallways, plush locker rooms (each with its own steam room), a posh manicure/pedicure suite and sculpture-enhanced treatment suites. Clients are treated to complimentary grapes and almonds at the French Paradox Wine Lounge, and couples who have reserved the VIP suite nibble their post-treatment snack at a table for two. The spécialités de la maison are Vinothérapie treatments using the anti-oxidant rich polyphenols in the grape extract (produced from grape seeds and skins), which fight free radicals — and aging — better than Vitamin E. The signature treatment, a soak in the circular Red Vine Bath ($75), is often followed by the Wine Maker’s massage ($185).
