Kinara Spa - Spa ReviewBeauty on the Edgeby Sylvie Greil
In Hollywood, looking good is a full-time job. Between yoga, shopping for the latest Joie jeans, oxygen treatments and Botox blitzes, Angelenos barely have time to unwind, and when they do they love their spas. Kinara ("on the edge" in Hindi) is beloved by numerous celebrity clients including Halle Berry, Anjelica Houston and Christina Applegate. Kinara is the co-creation of Christine Splichal (wife of über-chef Joachim Splichal whose culinary dynasty includes Patina, Café Pinot, and Nick & Stef's Steakhouse) and dermal doyenne Olga Lorencin, who have pooled their impeccable taste, experience and vision to create this private nugget in the Design District. The luscious, Yugoslavian born Lorencin is a veritable skin genius, having developed treatments for years. She offers her own skincare line featuring the Kinara Lemon Eucalyptus Hydrator and Kinara Nighttime Skin Quencher, a richly hydrating cream that provides essential nighttime treatment.
The spa menu at the beautiful Eastern Indian, Balinese and French inspired space is extensive and includes: facial, hydrotherapy bath, body scrub, massage or body wrapall customized and delicately balanced with the best natural ingredients and cutting edge skin technology by Lorencin. Luxurious treatments include the Red Carpet Facial, the Deep Detox facial, as well as "à la carte" items that can be added onto other facials such as the Lactic Acid Peel and Alpha-Beta Peel.
Kinara Cadeaux, the gift boutique of Kinara Spa, features unusual and luxury goods and artisan items imported from around the world. You may encounter Cecchi e Cecchi or Marzotto wool and cashmere throws from Italy, luxurious pajamas from Belgium, France or Vietnam, Soin de Fee Baby Skincare goodies from Switzerland, scented candles, home accessories and other objets d'art. Beauty does have a price, but an experience at Kinara Spa is truly priceless. Kinara (Updated: 06/28/11 SS) |
