LeSpa at Sofitel - Spa Review
L.A.'s Le "Ahh..."

LeSpa's
Manicure and Pedicure Lounge |
If
you're the type of person who likes to “shop
until you drop” at the Beverly Center, then you
should drop into LeSpa at the Sofitel
Hotel across the street, where you can be reinvigorated
at the hotel chain’s first North American luxury
spa.
Although
the new spa is completely integrated into the hotel, there’s
a separate entrance off the valet lot (just $3.50 parking
for spa-goers) for non-guests. Another nice touch is that
the guest entrance does not go through the lobby, so shy
people don’t have to walk by reception dressed in
robes.
The
5,000 square foot spa’s emphasis on privacy is doubtlessly
due to their desire to host celebrity clients. To further
that goal, it contains two private spa suites that rent
by the hour, which include private bathrooms with 21-showerhead
steam showers, a Chromacolor bath tub featuring LED light
therapy and a separate area for bodyguards. The spa even
claims to schedule a maximum of two new guests per appointment
time.

The
Serenity Lounge |
For
those who welcome company, the well-lit manicure and pedicure
lounge is a good place to host a shower or nail party.
Not only can food be catered by the hotel restaurant SIMON
LA, but there’s also a patio so the party can
be taken outside. Spa visitors get access to the well-equipped
SO Fit gym (which sports a small Buddha, smiling while
holding hand weights), and the new outdoor hotel pool.
However, street traffic noise and the view of the Beverly
Center do not make for a relaxing poolside atmosphere,
so treatments are more enjoyable in the six indoor treatment
rooms than the outside cabana. The seasonal treatment
menu ranges from $20 waxing services to $290 body wraps
and facial treatments. Massages can be individually tailored
to include hot stones and aromatherapy, featuring products
by Decléor.
Make
sure you arrive at your appointment early, so you can
enjoy a steam shower and the futuristically furnished
Serenity Lounge, where each client gets a tea service
and a ritual heated-rock foot soak and foot massage before
their treatment. The only thing more comforting than soaking
your feet in a warm bath is having someone else dry them
off for you.
