There
are quite a few numbers of salons around town, but how
many of them can boast direct views of the Pacific Ocean?
To the best of our knowledge there are only two, and
Pomp Salon is one of them. Driving along Ocean Avenue
in Santa Monica, under the majestic palm trees, is a
good start for a pampering journey into the hands of
Lisa Dixon and her team.
Before
she became an expert stylist and colorist, Lisa acquired
a master's degree in interior design; therefore, she
designed the salon herself. Welcoming, warm beige and
blue tones, spacious stations, modern furniture and
floor-to-ceiling mirrors make the space very pleasant
and comfortable. And, isn’t that part of the experience,
considering the time you are spending there?
The first smile you encounter at the salon is from Stephanie,
Lisa sister. She welcomes you and gets you ready for
your treatment. A large range of beauty enhancements
are available: wide choice of hair care, skincare, manicure
and pedicure and massage. All of them, of course, are
personalized with exceptional service and attention.
Men's needs are not forgotten and they have their own
special menu of services, such as mini-facials, scalp
massages and manicures. If you are getting married,
Pomp Salon offers a special package of preparations
during the week before the big event.
The whole idea behind Pomp Salon is to offer relaxation.
Hair dryers are suspended from the ceiling and swing
out so you don’t have to move; the shampoo chairs
can give you a back massage or can be are heated; the
"quiet space" in the back of the salon, with
natural lighting, is a perfect place for a sip of iced
tea, or a bite of apple.
"As hairstylists, I believe we have a great opportunity
to enrich people's lives on many levels—not only
by fulfilling their personal beauty needs but also by
ensuring that they feel transformed in a powerful way,”
says Lisa. You leave the salon with the great feeling
of looking beautiful inside and outside.
