The Spa at 51, London - Review

Wholeness, Purity and Radiance

A massage at The Spa at 51 Buckingham Gate in London

The 51 Buckingham Gate hotel is a boutique town house property situated in Westminster, in the heart of London. With 86 luxury suites and residences, three restaurants and a spa, the hotel itself has a very private feel. The entrance is situated away from the main road and opens into a calm and beautiful courtyard garden with manicured flower beds and fountain. The reception area is small and discreet, and immediately makes you feel at home in a way that large hotels rarely do.

Not only is the staff extremely polite and welcoming, so is the spa environment itself. The feel is again very homey, and with just two treatment rooms, a "relaxing area," plus complimentary access to all the usual facilities of a spa such as sauna and steam rooms, you could spend hours here and forget about time.

From a menu of aromatherapy massage, organic sea scrub, body therapy hydro-pack, facials, manicures and pedicures, we opted for the Anne Sémonin Phyto-Aromatic facial and massage. The massage is exceptionally enjoyable; the smell of the myriad products and plant essences is wonderful — particularly during the excellent facial treatment — and your skin is left feeling soft, refreshed and relaxed.

The boutique day spa is open to both residents and non-residents of the hotel, and we'll sure be back soon for another dose of wholeness and purity.
