Urban Retreat at Harrods - Spa Review

London Escape

by Inca Starzinsky

The Urban Retreat at Harrods is situated on the fifth floor of the world-famous department store in London’s Knightsbridge. As part of a wide-ranging refurbishment program, the Urban Retreat has been extended to include a number of luxurious and exclusive services such as hair and nail salons, a medispa, the Roja Dove Haute Parfumerie, which offers a gift service whereby beautiful Lalique crystal flacons can be filled with a range of Lalique fragrances, and the Black Crystal Room, which can be hired for corporate events or private parties in combination with a variety of beauty treatments. The environment is modern and elegant, the staff professional and welcoming. It lives up to its name as an escape from the big city.

The Retreat’s beauty services encompass more than thirty therapy rooms, offering an extensive selection of world-class beauty treatments. Exclusive to the Urban Retreat is the Crème de la Mer Spa Experience, which helps transform your skin with a pure infusion of Dr. Max Huber’s celebrated Miracle Broth and a therapeutic and powerful massage. Another specialty is John Odel’s aboriginal-inspired Kiradjee massage. Combining acupressure, deep tissue work, healing and gentle body mobility, Kiradjee is an exceptionally thorough massage which leaves you so relaxed that you feel as though you are floating outside of your body. It’s a remarkable experience.
