Mandara Spa Opens First UK Location
Balinese Massage Therapy

Mandara Spa in London
In the bustling heart of London's South Bank, just a short walk from the Houses of Parliament, Waterloo Station and the London Eye, is an oasis of calm and relaxation. It is Mandara Spa, recently opened in the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge hotel. While it may be the first Mandara Spa in the UK, it joins more than 70 others around the world — all owned by Steiner Leisure Ltd. The first one was founded in Bali in 1995, and it is that island's healing arts that are practiced at Mandara Spas.
London's Mandara Spa boasts 7,500 square feet, nine treatment rooms — one double and eight singles, including three with en-suite showers — and two pedicure and three manicure stations. The spa features Mandara Spa body therapies, Elemis facials and detox therapies and Bliss manicures, pedicures and waxing. This is the first time all three spa products have been available under the same roof.
Mandara Spa's Signature Services include Balinese Massage, Asian Head Massage and Elemis Pro-Collagen Quartz Lift Facial. The Balinese Massage harnesses the therapeutic properties of 100-percent pure essential oils and combines stretching, long strokes, skin rolling and palm and thumb pressure techniques to relieve tension, improve blood flow, ease stress and calm the mind. Focusing on the upper body, the Asian Head Massage, based on the ancient healing system of Ayurveda, includes a Thai poultice filled with exotic leafs, flowers and lime essential oil, which is then dipped in warm coconut oil and used on the scalp. Clinically proven, after just one treatment, the Elemis Pro-Collagen Quartz Lift Facial reduces the number of wrinkles by up to 94-percent and improves skin firmness by up to 57-percent.
Adjacent to the spa is the hotel's Fitness Centre, comprising a gym, steam and sauna rooms, a 15-meter heated pool and changing rooms.
