New Life Hiking Spa isn't the kind of place where pampered divas go to get Botox booster shots or quick-fix slimming solutions. Instead, since 1978, New Life has been offering folks the chance to lose some serious pounds the old-fashioned way: through exercise and diet. But who knew exercise could be so fun? Taking in the scenic beauty of the Appalachian Trails and Vermont's alpine tundra at elevations over 4,000 feet, you'll forget that working up a sweat takes well, work. (For raw beginners, there are less stressful walks along mountain streams.) Diet-wise, expect hearty yet low-calorie meals featuring chicken and seafood that are designed to rid the body off toxins. Evening entertainment after a fulfilling day of hitting the trails, a Chi Kung class, water aerobics, Pilates or Zumba, includes cooking demonstrations and relaxation classes; and of course you can always book a hot stone or bamboo massage. Rooms are no-frills, practical, New England style accommodations for 40 guests. Please note that New Life Hiking Spa season is from mid-May to September.
