 On the grounds of the JUSTIN Vineyards & Winery, this bed-and-breakfast is a sociable spot to stay in the heart of the Paso Robles wine country. The building itself looks like an imposing French chateau, and inside the suites are sumptuous and romantic. All are spacious and come with featherbeds, flat-screen TVs, refrigerators, microwaves and coffee makers. Towel off from the private Jacuzzi tub and slip into one of the embroidered robes, then crack open a local bottle of wine---it's heavenly. The sunny Provence Suite overlooks the garden, while the Tuscany Suite has leather armchairs and frescoes on the ceiling. The Sussex and Bordeaux Suites are larger apartment-style dwellings, and the latter comes with its own full kitchen and dining room. Outdoors there's a heated whirlpool spa and seasonal swimming pool. Because the winery's tasting room is open to the public, you'll feel like a part of all the action here. The inn also serves dinner daily (reservations required) and weekend lunch on the verandah. All meals feature such fresh seasonal fare as heirloom tomato consommé, butter-poached lobster and pear chiffon, and all of the main dishes come with wine pairings. The winery also offers cooking classes and special tasting events. |
