 This French-styled country inn is found at one of the area's most established wineries. Here behind the wrought-iron gates, the owners aim to recreate the atmosphere of Provence, but with views of the Santa Lucia Mountains. All of the rooms come with faux cashmere robes and wireless high-speed Internet access. The Cuveé Suite has a brass four-poster queen bed and a handsome writing desk, with windows overlooking the inn's fountain courtyard. The Veraison Room has a balcony with mountain views. Although the room is small, it can be combined with the Terroir Room, which has a patchwork quilt and country décor, to form a more spacious suite. A welcome glass of wine and cheese plate or home-baked cookies will be waiting upon arrival. A full hot breakfast is served on the terrace every morning. There's a common lounge for socializing, or sweethearts can hide away romantically in their room. You can walk or cycle to over a half-dozen wineries from here, or the hospitable hosts can suggest a wealth of other outdoor activities nearby, too. |
