| On country backroads east of Highway 101 just outside Paso Robles, this upscale bed-and-breakfast sets itself apart from the competition. Being located on a family vineyard, it gives guests a true taste of the wine country lifestyle. The light-filled interiors of all of the rooms and suites have contemporary décor and each has its own private bathroom, refrigerator, microwave, air-conditioning, and wireless Internet access. The upstairs Merlot Room and the Sangiovese Room both have a porch with vineyard views, as well as a mini kitchen and satellite TV. The downstairs Cabernet Room has all of the same amenities, plus a private whirlpool tub. There's a TV in the common lounge. Rates include afternoon appetizers and a full hot breakfast served every morning. The B&B is a perfect jumping-off point for day trips around the wine country. Incidentally, it is named after a honeybee hive the owners found as they were pruning an oak tree on the property. A two-night minimum is required during special events. |
