 This building was constructed in 1929 and was returned to its original architectural grandeur by the Inter-Continental chain in 1990. There are guests who say the Art Deco swimming pool on the 13th floor is in itself worth a stay here. Though its size (807 rooms) tends to work against it, there is still charm to be found. The guest rooms are spacious and comfortable. All have the amenities desired by demanding travelers: robes, fax and modem connections, mini-bars and 24-hour room service. Three restaurants on-site provide a variety of dining options: Zest, The Living Room and Six Continents Bar and Salon. Located within a few miles are the Children's Museum, Sears Tower, Navy Pier, Shedd Aquarium and the Art Institute of Chicago. For sports enthusiasts, the Chicago Cubs, White Sox and Bears can all be cheered on within a 15-minute drive. |
