A rainforest dominates the atrium and a 20,000-gallon aquarium captivates guests at the front desk, transforming this desert resort into a lush tropical paradise. Those who wish to view the hotel’s signature nightly volcano eruption may be disappointed to learn that the faux volcanic mountain is closed for renovations until the end of 2008. Onsite is Siegfried & Roy's Secret Garden & Dolphin Habitat, a climate-controlled "mini-zoo" for many of the famed duo's beloved animals. Remodeling of the 2,763 guest rooms is currently under way and will include simple lines and a more modern sensibility. Among dining options are Fin (Hong Kong-style seafood), STACK (American), Onda Ristorante (Italian), kokomo's (steak and seafood) and Japonais (Japanese). Popular Las Vegas entertainer Danny Gans consistently fills his eponymous theater inside the hotel, while hot nightclub JET offers ample celebrity sightings and three rooms booming with music to suit everyone’s taste. Meeting planners can choose from 27 meeting rooms, an executive boardroom and the Grand Ballroom complete with a recessed stage. There is also the 90,000-square-foot Events Center, which accommodates up to 8,650 people. |
