Grosvenor House, A JW Marriott Hotel Review: Overlooking Hyde Park on one side and Mayfair on the other, and less than five minutes' walk from Oxford Street, Grosvenor House's location is one of London's most sought after. Eight floors, 420 rooms and 74 suites put the hotel up with some of the largest in the area. Accommodations are in keeping with the signature Marriott style: creamy yellow walls, crisp white bedding and burgundy sashes across the beds, which are fitted with 300-count Egyptian cotton linen. Executive rooms come with 32-inch flat screen TVs with the latest movies on demand and high-speed Internet access; executive guests can also enjoy complimentary continental breakfast in a dedicated lounge, where snacks are served throughout the day. The grand ballroom (the Great Room) has a capacity of 2,000 and attracts major balls and events, such as the annual International Grosvenor House Art and Antiques Fair. It is also often booked for fashion week, so if you're looking for a quiet stay, make sure there are no large events before booking. On-site Corrigan's Mayfair is a treat for fans of wild fish and seafood, and for steak lovers, the JW Steakhouse serves hand-cut selections of dry-aged American USDA prime beef. After dinner, classic cocktails can be enjoyed at the Bourbon Bar.
