41 Hotel Review: For the central but quiet 41 hotel, premium service begins before guests have even set foot through the doors. A guest preference list is sent prior to your stay, so that everything is in place when you arrive. Anti-allergy pillow? Box of Swiss truffles? Yoga mat? Done, done and done! The 30 individually designed rooms and suites are decorated in a signature black-and-white color scheme, with marble floors and mahogany furniture, making 41 feel like a private club rather than a hotel. Front-facing rooms look down on the Royal Mews. Guests are shown around the room so all questions are answered immediately, and if you need anything, it will arrive within minutes, whether it be a flat iron or an anniversary cake. Fresh fruit and flowers, scented candles and chocolates make rooms quite homey, and bathrooms are stocked with the elegant Penhaligon’s range of toiletries (long favored by discerning fans, from Winston Churchill to Paul McCartney). Rooms contain iPod docks, free Wi-Fi, TV with movies on demand, CD players and even fax machines that double as printers for laptops. This is one of the closest hotels to Buckingham Palace, and it is within easy walking distance to Westminster and St. James Park.
