The Rubens at the Palace Hotel Review: From the initial (and instant) check-in, service here is friendly and attentive. Wonderful little extras like fresh flowers on arrival, good robes and slippers and a nightly selection of canapés make guests feel thoroughly pampered. Rooms are well furnished in traditional style and have very comfortable plush beds and a host of facilities: free high-speed Internet access, CD players and movie and music services. Dedicated Business Ready rooms have everything the busy executive could wish for: well-equipped desks, excellent lighting and speaker phones. The hotel also offers eight unique, specially themed rooms in honor of past British monarchs, featuring touches such as crystal chandeliers and a canopy over the bed. Many guest rooms and suites have views overlooking the Royal Mews. The attached 41 Hotel has haute-designed rooms and a wonderfully opulent lounge area with a fully-stocked honesty bar, fireplace and splendid leather divans. The ambience of the public rooms is delightfully relaxed. The Cavalry Bar, decorated with comfortable love seats and wing chairs in red upholstery, has a military theme and serves light meals all day. For more formal dining, guests have a choice of The Old Masters Restaurant. offering traditional roasts, or The Library, with a more intimate atmosphere and an international menu.
