The Cumberland Hotel Review

: This top-notch Art Deco property has a location that's nearly impossible to beat in central London: the top of Park Lane just opposite Marble Arch overlooking Hyde Park and Oxford Street. Enter the lobby of The Cumberland and you'll immediately sense that you've reached the pinnacle of class and haute design. Sleek, recessed lighting highlights a number of original sculptures and paintings. The thousand-odd rooms are elegant and breathtaking. They vary in size, but all have great amenities such as plasma TV screens and plush bathrobes. Bathrooms feature either bathtub/shower or walk-in shower, both offering invigorating power showers and complimentary Molton Brown toiletries. Suites come with early check-in (10 a.m.) and late check out (4 p.m.), though similar hours are occasionally available for standard rooms if you ask in advance. As a number of rooms do not have views, it's best to request this also at the time of booking. There is a great fitness center with ample cardio machines and free weights. The Cumberland has a brasserie serving modern European specialties, as well as the Market Restaurant, which offers a choice of eleven national food styles prepared from five open kitchens. Breakfast includes ready-made smoothies.
