Parkes Hotel Review: Idyllically set in a tree-lined cul-de-sac a few paces from Harrods in exclusive Knightsbridge, this Victorian-age hotel is a blend of luxury townhouse and grand country manor. The flawless rooms and suites are sumptuous, spacious and done up in traditional English style, with a décor of rich reds and deep floral prints. Carved wooden beds, brass lighting fixtures, plush carpeting and polished oak cabinetry combine to give the rooms a feel of old-time charm. Other amenities include Egyptian cotton sheets, DVD and CD players, wireless Internet access and laptop-size safes. Bathrooms are clad in polished green and off-white marble and feature under-the-floor heating, power showers and Molton Brown toiletries. Complimentary copies of "The Times" are delivered to guests daily. The top-notch concierge service organizes day trips, sightseeing tours and theater tickets, but if you'd rather stay in, check out the on-site book and video library. The personal attention given to guests at this boutique property is incomparable.
