51 Buckingham Gate, Taj Suites and Residences Hotel Review: First, let’s make one thing clear: 51 Buckingham Gate is not Crowne Plaza London - St. James. At one time the former was part of the latter, but the two have amicably gone their separate ways, though they are still connected by an inner courtyard and owned and operated by Taj Hotels, Resorts & Palaces. Fortunately, 51 Buckingham Gate guests continue to enjoy privileges at Crowne Plaza, most notably the Club at St. James Court fitness center and Quilon restaurant, sister to the Bombay Brasserie. As for its individual assets, this hotel contains 82 suites and apartments, which house up to four bedrooms; there are also ways to extend certain suites into nine-bedroom accommodation. All come with fully equipped kitchens, wireless Internet access, printers, fax machines and private phone numbers. Signature suites include amenities such as large dining spaces, original artwork and private chefs, and all suites enjoy butler service on request. The two-bedroom Jaguar Suite, decorated by Jaguar's chief designer Ian Callum, alludes to classic and contemporary Jaguar models and features specially commissioned Jaguar-inspired artwork and displays. 51 Buckingham Gate is also more contemporary than its counterpart, with refined modern décor in an intimate townhouse setting. Personal butlers are Ivor Spencer trained, and complimentary breakfast featuring organic produce is served in The Library. On your way out of town, grab a Gourmet on the Go meal for your flight.
