Andaz Liverpool Street London Hotel Review: Using a fresh, simple and personalized service model, this property attracts everyone from business travelers to romantic weekenders to style-seeking creative types. Instead of the usual check-in desks and concierge, there is one contact, an Andaz Team Member who will help satisfy guests’ personal tastes, requests and preferences. Alternatively, the Andaz iPhone app allows guests to order room service, check messages and complete a smooth and fast check-in and check-out on their own. The hotel has four bars, fourteen event rooms and 267 guest rooms and suites with vibrant furnishings in a contemporary style, iPod docks, snug Yukata robes and work stations complete with Eames chairs. Andaz rates include free Wi-Fi, local calls and a constantly restocked non-alcoholic mini-bar. At the private dining room, the Andaz Studio, guests can choose menu combinations from any of the hotel’s five restaurants, which specialize in sushi, seafood, bistro cuisine and hearty pub fare. The hotel is also eco-conscious: bathrooms use 80 per cent less water than is standard; a computer-controlled boiler reduces 25 per cent fuel use; intelligent lighting systems are installed in guest rooms; fair trade purchasing policies are implemented; and wherever possible, food and beverage are sourced locally. On-site activities include comedy and literary events; East End Contemporary Arts tours are held regularly at the hotel.
