Dean Street Townhouse Hotel Review: Sister to the Soho House hotel, this gorgeous pair of adjoined townhouses creates a homey hidden space in the middle of media-centric, trendy Soho. The 39 rooms (ranging from tiny to large), sport low ceilings, dim lights, thick oatmeal carpets and comfy chairs at the foot of the beds where guests can sit shod in Cowshed flip-flops and watch DVDs on plasma screen TVs. As guests enter their room, the radio plays quietly, candles flicker and freshly baked biscuits wait with coffee and tea, along with small boxes of Grasshopper porridge. Ladies can leave not only their hair dryers but also their straightening irons at home; these items can be found in the bathrooms along with six full-size bottles of Cowshed shampoos and conditioners. The bathrooms contain anything guests may have forgotten, from dental floss and mouthwash to face scrub and condoms. DVD players are hidden in bedside tables; as well, rooms have Bose iDocks and free Wi-Fi. Guests enjoy access to a Virgin Active gym on Oxford Street, and the finest of London’s cafés, restaurants, pubs and bars are right outside the front door. Walk a few paces to the right and you'll find yourself in the hotel’s own restaurant and bar, serving good English nosh and warm apple brandy.
