Shoreditch House Hotel Review: Walk in, throw your bag on the couch and put your feet up. Feel free to consider Shoreditch House your house, or rather your home, while you’re within its Victorian warehouse walls. A tongue-in-cheek poster declaring "NO SUITS" greets guests in reception, but it sums up the relaxed and no-fuss attitude of the coolest of East London hotels. Originally a private members club, hosting A-list parties around its rooftop pool, the hotel added the 26 Tiny, Small and Small-Plus bedrooms later. But the owners don't seem to want you to waste time in the bright, airy rooms, having deliberately stripped them down to Scandinavian minimalism, leaving just a double bed, wall hooks in place of cupboards, plasma screen TV and morning porridge and coffee. Shoreditch House is famed for its beautiful brickwork, old beams and stone walls, and guests are encouraged to use the public spaces. Bring your laptop to the Sitting Room, a wooden-floored, velvet-couched space with roaring fires, board games and sticky pastries lying in wait. Or if it’s sunny out, head to the rooftop, relax by the pool, or pick your way through the Secret Garden and stretch out on a lounger or hidden couch. This hotel aims to offer an all-round experience. One thing's for sure: you won't want to leave.
