ME London Hotel Review: Emerging from a major renovation led by Foster + Partners, ME London is an architecturally intricate, thoughtfully designed hotel with a distinct personality. Formerly the Marconi House and Gaiety Theatre, the property sits near the southern tip of Covent Garden between The Strand and Fleet Street with views of the London Eye, St. Paul’s Cathedral and the River Thames. With monochrome palettes drawing from the concept of yin and yang, the 157 rooms (including sixteen suites) provide an urbane and cosmopolitan atmosphere. Some feature private terraces, and all come with floor-to-ceiling windows, white leather walls, acoustic soundproofing, digital MediaHubs, FLO table lights by Foster + Partners and cabinets housing TVs and entertainment systems next to fully stocked mini-bars. Additionally, guests can enjoy an expansive pillow menu, in-room spa services, a DVD/CD library, a book library and evening turndown service. Cocktails, coffee, tea, smoothies and sweet treats can be enjoyed at Marconi Bar, a lobby-located retreat named after Guglielmo Marconi, inventor of the radio. Drawing further from the hotel’s historic roots, Radio, the tenth-floor rooftop bar and terrace, offers breathtaking city views and cozy lounge areas. STK is an edgy and energetic dining experience with an American steakhouse-inspired menu and live DJs spinning sexy ambient music. Groups can utilize the nearly 500 square meters of event space; spread across seven rooms, it can accommodate ten to 300. Guests seeking a workout can take advantage of the fitness center.
