: A country estate built in the early 1700s, The Grove was once home to the Earls of Clarendon and a host of visitors including painter George Stubbs, Edward VII, Horace Walpole and Lord Palmerston. Guests today will find a romantic, peaceful resort, with formal gardens lush with rambling roses and 500-year-old olive trees, private terraces and woodlands --- all perfect for a quiet moment of contemplation.
