Created from the former home of the Greater London Council, the London Marriott Hotel County Hall occupies a plumb riverside location right opposite the Houses of Parliament and adjacent to Londons newest attraction, the London Eye, a giant Ferris wheel built to celebrate the millennium. The entrance is on the south side of Westminster Bridge and has to be the grandest of any hotel in London, occupying the whole of the original County Hall courtyard. Much has been made of its municipal history, with the Noes Lobby and the Leaders Bar with its collection of historical memorabilia of the building. Bedrooms are well furnished in traditional style and many have river views; all have satellite TV, modem points and voicemail. The County Hall Restaurant has uninterrupted Thames views, an oyster bar and Modern British cooking. Health nuts will lap up the wonderful facilities in the 24-hour Health Club, which include pool, fitness centre and The Spa health and beauty centre.
