| Built in 1910 by the Banning brothers, the original owners of Catalina Island, this charming Craftsman-style inn---topped by a crow's nest---commands an ideal location overlooking the village of Two Harbors. The property offers a gracious glimpse into the island's genteel past, a heritage still maintained by dedicated architectural preservation and a no-car policy on the streets of Avalon. From the trellised courtyard, guests can enjoy cocktails, fresh sea air and the inn's trademark harbor views. Step inside the Lodge or Sun Rooms to relax, read a novel or simply converse with fellow guests beside a roaring fire. Seclusion seekers will adore the Old World Victorian charm of the eleven individually decorated rooms (some of which boast private terraces), which are located in the Main House, the Cliff House and the Crow's Nest. The staff is happy to plan activities such as kayaking and scuba diving, as well as make dinner reservations. Complimentary continental breakfast is served daily, and the inn has a two-night minimum on weekends. |
