Hotel Imperial Reforma Hotel Review

: The Hotel Imperial Reforma is an elegant wedge-shaped mansion, occupying a narrow corner on the stately Paseo de la Reforma. Built in the French neo-classical style, this architectural treasure was inaugurated by Mexican president Porfirio Diaz in 1904. Today, its historic facade remains among the city's most eye-catching structures. Once inside, the hotel's interior is a mix of modern style and turn-of-the-century grandeur. For truly historic charm, the hotel's Spanish restaurant is formal and elegant, with clothed tables arranged graciously around a grand piano and polished floors. The ground-floor cafeteria, on the other hand, is woefully out of place, though not unpopular. Remodeled during the 1950s, the Hotel Imperial's modern lobby is illuminated by a five-story atrium, around which guest rooms are organized. The design, while not unpleasant, is a bit of a mismatch with the historic exterior. Rooms are noticeably dated, though spacious and comfortable, with full bathrooms and sitting areas in each. The hotel's excellent location on the Paseo de la Reforma brings you within a stone’s throw of the city center, Chapultepec Park, and many other historic landmarks.
