Located next door to the Delano, this historic landmark from the Art Deco period was revamped in 2003 to the tune of $3 million. Its large outdoor courtyard leads to the beach, and, at 205 feet, its infinity pool is the longest, and most touted, on South Beach (although few people ever seem to be swimming in it). Guest rooms feature modern geometric shapes and classic colors. Renovations included custom-designed furnishings and the addition of Miami’s only three-floor penthouse suite, the Triplex. Other guest accommodations are divided between the 115 Historic Tower rooms and suites, and 36 deluxe rooms and suites in the Cabana Wing. All guest quarters include such amenities as complimentary Wi-Fi, 27" flat-screen TV with DVD and VCR, mini-bars, terry bathrobes, and daily newspaper at your door. Martinis and music are served up in the popular lobby lounge. The Tamara restaurant boasts a ceiling painting by Art Deco painter Tamara de Lempicka, and serves French cuisine in an intimate, romantic setting. |
