Le St-Martin Hotel & Suites Review: From the outside, this hotel is unlike any other in the area. While most opt for a boxy, tower-style building or a shorter rectangular exterior, the St-Martin blends the two in a seamless contemporary design. The building looks more like a 21st-century chateau than a typical Quebec hotel. On the inside the hotel exudes comfort, elegance and charm thanks in large part to soft colors and overstuffed duvet comforters and pillows. Bedframes and night tables are done in dark, earthy woods that lend an organic feel to guestrooms. Bathrooms ooze the same ambiance of natural comfort as the rooms. Some suites offer working fireplaces and whirlpools tucked behind sets of French doors. Many accommodations in the hotel’s "Executive Tower" are floored with hardwood and have distant views of both the Laurentian mountains and the city of Montreal. Tasteful still-life artwork is another staple in guestrooms, adding an air of sophistication while avoiding hotel-art clichés. The St-Martin is around the bend from a massive shopping mall and a 20-minute car ride from both Trudeau Airport and downtown Montreal.
