Palacio Nazarenas Hotel Review: Travelers to Cusco who seek a sophisticated but authentic Peruvian retreat will find comfort at Orient-Express’s Palacio Nazarenas. This history-rich hotel features such on-site attractions as Inca stones and an ancient fountain courtyard, as well as the city’s first outdoor pool. A small property, it has just 55 suites, each of which provides oxygen-enriched airflow and a private bar (with the option of a butler) stocked with fresh cocktail ingredients from the hotel’s gardens or neighboring locations. Additional in-room amenities include an extensive pillow menu accessed via iPad, 24-hour room service, coffee and tea service, satellite TV with stereo and complimentary Wi-Fi Internet access. Top-tier Master Suites provide extras such as under-floor bathroom heating and Peruvian travertine marble. The in-house restaurant, Senzo, is a great place for guests to experience regional Peruvian ingredients creatively reimagined and incorporated into eclectic recipes by chef Virgilio Martinez. The accompanying Senzo Bar extends to the hotel’s open-air heated pool area and features light fare, a South American wine list, a salad trolley full of Peruvian produce and a fruit and vegetable cart. The hotel is also home to the Inca- and Andean-culture-inspired Hypnoze Spa, which incorporates Peruvian flowers and herbs, Andean salts and other natural ingredients in its unique line of organic products; it also offers one double and five single treatment rooms (some with glass floors and private hot tubs) and a pre/post-treatment relaxation room with a bar that serves herbal teas and nutritious snacks.
