 Ever since this classic hotel was refurbished, the proprietors have dared to be different. It may be near several other downtown hotels, but it goes for distinction by catering to the ironic Gen X-ers and arty boomers who appreciate digs with a sense of humor. The unassuming, eight-story, brick building houses over a hundred rooms done in sleek, de rigueur hip hotel décor and offering a few nice extras: robes, pillowtop mattresses, pillow menus and Aveda bath goodies. But what really defines this establishment is little eccentricities such as the Get it Now! button on the phone for those demanding guests who can't wait for anything; it's a good thing room service is available 24/7.
