Room at The Jefferson Hotel, Richmond, VAThis national historic landmark dates back to 1895. With its tapestries, faux-marble columns and Tiffany stained-glass skylights, it retains the grandeur of the Victorian era. Every aspect of this place bears a customized feel, from the Frette linens and bathrobes in the guest rooms to the unique setting of Lemaire restaurant, which features eight separate, intimate dining areas. The 264 guest rooms and suites offer over 50 different styles. They are graced with high ceilings, sweeping windows and custom furnishings such as mahogany armoires. The tone is upscale residential, with warm brown tones and a hint of American colonial style. All accommodations come with two-line phones, voicemail and data ports, and many of the Deluxe Rooms have small seating areas. Among the suites is the 1,800-square-foot Presidential Suite, with a baby grand piano in the parlor and a marble balcony that overlooks Franklin Street. Additional facilities include a fully-equipped fitness center, an indoor pool with discreet outdoor sundeck and 18 meeting and event rooms. The hotel can accommodate weddings up to 500; Soon-to-be-newlyweds should ask about complimentary accommodation for the bride and groom on their wedding night.
