Located in one of Seattle's far-flung suburbs and set amidst a number of wineries, this small, understated lodge really is an escape from the city. It has proven such a magnet for corporate retreats that management added a challenge course for team-building exercises. Its two restaurants, The Barking Frog and The Herbfarm (the latter of which requires reservations months in advance), have also made it a favorite with foodies. The lodge appears to have overlooked no detail in an effort to assure comfort. Most guestrooms are around 500 square-feet and include fireplaces, digital showers, soaking tubs, overstuffed beds, slate work desks, safes large enough for laptops, complimentary high-speed Internet access, a balcony or patio and personalized mini-bars based on guest preferences. A hiking trail is nearby, and bikes are available. |
