Crowne Plaza Changi Airport Hotel Review: Normally convenience over comfort and scenery lures travelers into an airport hotel, but this environmentally innovative property at Changi Airport’s Terminal 3 stands apart from the pack. On the photogenic exterior, carbon fiber mesh designed to resemble Singapore’s national flower blocks 60 per cent of the equatorial sun’s rays. Inside, 320 comfortable if minimalist accommodations feature double-glazed windows to block airplane sounds; you'll also find decent-size work spaces plus dual-line speaker phones, high-speed wireless Internet and plenty of electrical outlets. As all entry-level rooms cost the same, upgrade simply by requesting one facing the runway for captivating takeoff and touchdown views. Others face the futuristic control tower, and eight open around the 98-foot-long swimming pool. Suites extend to separate living rooms large enough to hold a small business meeting. Access to the club lounge with private meeting spaces is available to any guest for an additional daily fee. Or you can shut the laptop in favor of a relaxing rubdown in the bijou spa or workout in the sunlit gym. A designated counter alongside the concierge desk accepts luggage and processes Singapore Airlines and Silk Air passengers. The on-site Imperial Treasure is an outpost of one of Singapore’s top Cantonese restaurants.
