Metropolitan by COMO, Bangkok Hotel Review: Amid the buzzing energy of Bangkok, Metropolitan by COMO delivers a dose of calm. Shopping, nightlife and cultural highlights are close by and easily accessible, putting this hotel in a convenient location for guests eager to experience all of the delights Bangkok has to offer; it’s also easy to hop on the hotel’s shuttle service to get to Sala Daeng BTS Skytrain station or Lumpini Subway station. The Metropolitan by COMO style is sleek and sophisticated thanks to contemporary Kathryn Kng-designed interiors that blend elements of both East and West (think Thai Makha wood, oxidized brass paneling, mosaic-tile-and-limestone bathrooms), along with original art by painter Natee Utarit. Each of the 169 guest rooms offers lots of natural light, complimentary Wi-Fi, DVD/CD players, mini-bars, Egyptian cotton linens and plenty of space for guests to move around in. Elsewhere within the property, visitors can make use of the COMO Shambhala Urban Escape spa, a yoga studio, steam rooms, a fully equipped gym and a 25-meter outdoor pool. For dining, stop for a bite to eat at Nahm, led by chef David Thompson. Other on-site dining/drinking options include Glow, serving healthy Asian-inspired cuisine and juices, and the trendy Met Bar. In-room food service is available 24 hours a day.
