 This lovely property is reminiscent of a 19th-century European country retreat, surrounded by lawns and gardens, 360 acres of wooded walking paths and miles of rolling farmland. The interiors feature a tasteful simplicity, with common areas adorned with wide-planked wooden floors and paneling cut from 100-year-old pine and fir beams. All cracks and imperfections are proudly on display, providing a picturesque backdrop for the elegant Early American and European antique furnishings. Numerous candelabras and seven massive fireplaces add to the charm. All nine rooms have private baths, many of which feature whirlpools. A spacious, quiet and very private suite is a highlight. One can relax and converse with fellow guests on comfortable couches around a seven-foot-wide fireplace in the common area, browse through the library or sip some wine or a microbrew at the bar. |
