Royal Chundu Hotel Review: Surrounded by lush bushland, two luxury lodges sit on the Zambezi River in Zambia. The first, River Lodge, houses ten riverfront suites, along with an infinity-edge pool, library and business center. The second, Island Lodge, comprises four private villas with open-air baths and glass-walled showers, an infinity-edge pool, two lounges, a formal dining area (serving traditional and international cuisine) and private dining decks. Both lodges include Wi-Fi and cell phone reception, satellite TV, air-conditioning, mosquito nets and Bomas (open-air dining areas with live entertainment and bonfires). For dining, guests can also opt for a lunch/dinner boat cruise, an island picnic lunch or sundown picnic dinner. A yellow 1939 Rolls Royce is available for transportation to and from your picnic, the Royal Livingstone Express Steam Train and the airport. Adventurous guests will enjoy sunset cruises, authentic tribal village walks, birding safaris, canoeing and fishing trips, walks with lions and rhinos, helicopter tours of Victoria Falls and excursions to Chobe National Park Botswana. If you prefer relaxation and pampering, the Royal Chundu offers in-room facials, body treatments and massages using natural, local ingredients. In fact, everything is locally sourced, from the fabrics to the foods -- even the chef is from Zambia. Rates include meals, tea, coffee, return transfer from the airport, a daily sundown river cruise and 10 per cent service charge.
