| This hotel is part of a large complex of office buildings, shopping galleries and eateries. Needless to say, it bustles with activity throughout the day. Nighttime is a different story, though, as the downtown part of Washington is very quiet after dark. Guests seeking entertainment would do best to take the Metro from the building to other parts of town. This is the closest hotel to the Smithsonian Institution and is known for its excellent location. This hotel is popular with large convention attendees and other business travelers, although it attracts its fair share of tourists on the weekends. The marble lobby is adorned with fresh flower arrangements and friendly receptionists. Rooms on the top floors facing out are the quietest, as the building is surrounded by busy Washington streets. The bathrooms contain televisions and telephones. One interesting extra---the hotel is not only pet-friendly, but rather pet-obsessed.
