| This departure from the traditional is the baby sister of the W New Orleans on Poydras Street. It's fair to say that the pair has put a distinctive stamp on the local lodging scene. This particular location now resides in the building once occupied by the former Hotel de la Poste. The hotel has 98 rooms, four carriage houses and two deluxe suites. Rooms are not especially spacious, but they are fully wired for computer and fax use, and standard furnishings include CD players, cable TV, VCRs and coffeemakers. Ask for a room facing the courtyard and pool. The view is lovely and you're removed from the busy traffic on Chartres Street. The in-house restaurant is Bacco, an Italian bistro owned by Ralph Brennan of the famous New Orleans' restaurant family. |
